1998 Ford Contour 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 150,00 miles

I have a 1998 ford contour with a 4 cyl. dohc engine that is a vin 3 that is bad. Can I replace it with an engine from a 2000 model contour, 4 cyl. dohc, vin 3? Are they interchangeable?

We recommend staying with direct fit parts. Chances are there will be sensors / locations... that are different.
