i have a 98 contour, automatic, 135000 miles DOHC 6 cyl.
My rack and pinion are leaking profusely.
Mechanic said the rack and pinion need replaced.
Quoted me at $550. 5 hrs in labor.
I have pulled transmissions before but not by myself.
Can i replace this by myself with only putting the car up on blocks?
Is their a procedure somewhere?
I will most likely be doing this by myself, is it possible?
Are their any special tools required to do this?
