When I shut the car OFF the oil light comes ON. The oil light is not on when the car is on, only when the car is OFF. I believe this is affecting my battery because my battery will be dead when I go out to start my car. I had no problem getting it started with a jump, except this one time. When i tried to jump my car the engine wasn't turning over but the speedometer was going crazy - jumping from 0-110mph. I think this is an electrical problem but when I brought it into a mechanic they told me that the oil light doesn't come on when they turn the car off. What can I ask them to look at when I take it in? I'm sick of jump starting my car in the morning to go to work. I've had the battery and alternator check, both are in great condition according to the test results.

Have them do a battery drain test to identify the circuit that is staying on with key off.
If they don't what a battery drain test is get out of there.
Good luck
