1996 Ford Contour V6, Lower Brake Only Lights Not Working

1996 Ford Contour V6 mileage: 59,000. When I step on the brake pedal, my brake light in the rear window goes on but the other brake lights do not. I have checked all of the bulbs and fuses and they all seem to be working properly. Any suggestions?

is there power at the bulb? if not there could be a broken wire in the harness. trace the wires and test for power.

There is power in the bulbs. The running light part of the bulb is lighting, but the brake light part is not. I replaced the brake light switch, could I have intalled it wrong?

not if the eye level light works. but with the brake pressed is there power? this is a different circuit from the running lights.
