Electrical problem
1996 Ford Contour 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 105k miles
The problem happened while I was driving on the freeway and had my cruise control set. All of a sudden I look down and my speedometer was on 0. I pulled off to the next exit, not knowing if my car was failing on me, or if that was the only thing wrong. Everything else was fine, so I kept on going. The next day my entire stereo and everything wouldn't work. I took a look and had some blown fuses. I fixed those, hoping my speedometer would be one of them. It was not. It's been about a year now (i know, I'm bad) and my speedometer and odometer still do not work. Autozone said it's the speed sensor. Is that correct, and if so is it something I can fix on my own? I'm fairly handy with other things. Thanks!
