1996 Ford Contour no heat

Heater problem
1996 Ford Contour 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

The heater has no heat, the blower works fine. The heater did not work then the knob was fixed (it had a short), and I had heat. Now the car has been parked for a month and a half, and there again is no heat. The switch again or what else to look for??

Hello –

To better assist you please tell me if your model is a GL, LX or SE. Also your engine size in liter and the 8th digit of your VIN.

When the car is at operating temperature does the gauge stay where it normally stays…….no temp flux or anything?

Next, at operating temperature…….check both heater hoses going into the firewall. Please tell me if one is hot and the other not or both hot etc.
