by 1989 ford bronco jumps out of 4x4

it will jump out of 4x4 but if in low it stays in it has 164000 on it its a good running 5.0

Automatic or manual 4x4? also do you have auto hubs or manual ones?

it goes in to like neutral and i have to hit the 4x4 buttin to get it to go back in to drive

Ok is it an automatic or a manual shifter transfer case (assuming auto since you said you hit the button) if is it auto it sounds like the motor that controls the transfer case is not stopping at the correct spot when it is shifting.
