1994 Ford Bronco noisy transfer case

Ther are very few parts inside at-case. You may have a chain that is slapping the case or fork bushings that are bad causing it to chatter against the gears inside. The t-case wont dictate how hard the trans shifts though, that is all transmission.It knocks at idle? if so it may be something inside thetrans instead of t-case, when not moving there are no parts moving in the t-case

so if the t- case is not the issue, what might be the problem with the trans. we did have to disconnect the abs sensors for about a week, would this have anything to do with the knock?

That wont do it (Abs Sensors) Could be a bad torque converter. Most internal trans problems require a tear down to find the problem. too many moving parts to venture a guess. Need to get under it and verify that is where the noise is coming from though

the torque converter. is there anything specific to look for or check to determine if the torque conv. is the problem.

Basically just trying to pinpoint where the noise is originating from.May be transfering through the trans and t-case, since they are aluminum, they act like speakers

do you have any way to determine if the noise is actually the t-conv. i have in the past used a wood stick to try to pin point the noise. is this a good method?

That or a long screwdriver held behind the ear
