1989 Ford Bronco lack of power after warmed up

1989 Ford Bronco 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic lots miles

My 89 bronco II 2.9L automatic has lack of power after it gets warmed up. After taking off from a stop I have to floor it to gt it moving. It also pings quite often (not due to bad gas) Why is this?

The valve ping could be cause by the knock sensor. As far as the loss of power, have you checked to make sure the catylatic converter isn't plugged? A plugged converter woll cause both loss of power and a ping.
