1984 Ford Bronco Spark plugs don't spark

It is on the side of the distributor and it called an ignition module and looks like this. And yes that is more then likely your problem.

Ok I fould that part on the side of the distributer took it off and brought it to the auto parts store and he tested it and he said its ok so he said just start taking all the electronics apart and cleaning them and making sure theres a good connection between everything. first off gonna give some background this car has been sitting for about 7 years since last drove, so I hooked up a battery to it and it seemed like it might be siezed which it wasn't before sitting so we pulled it with my fathers blazer and put it in gear and after the first try it broke free not sure if that helps at all but now this is what happened next. also I went to take the spark plug cap off and the dam spark plug broke in half thats how long its been sitting. but after that i hooked up another spark plug and touched it to the metal when the started turned and didn't see a spark so thats how i know it's not sparking. First thing I did was took the distributer cap off and cleaned all the metal point things and the metal thing that twist haven't got a chance yet to see if that work but wonder what else could i try to try and get a spark.

Ok even if you get spark keep in mind this sat 7 yrs there is going to so many fuel problems that you will doing a fuel filter and probably droping the tank and cleaning and such. The fuel is going to be bad and thick. There is usually 2 fuel filters on this too. One in a black canister near the rear and one inline filter near the front on the frame.
Now back to the start problem with the distributor cap off does the rotor turn? Do you have voltage to the possitive side of the coil and how much? Do you have power to the neg side of the coil and how much? Get back to me this and we will see where to go with it next ok.

Alright back, This is what has happened so far fuel lines were clogged up but i noticed that the throttle pedal was stuck so i took the whole carburetor apart to get the throttle unseized ended up doing a whole rebuild on it in the process i have taken the whole tank off and have been cleaning it and unclogged all the lines but since i got the carburetor back together and on the truck i have put gas in the bowl and have tried to get it to start only way i could do this was by jumping it because the battery kept draining after i charged it but anyways it turns over really fast

wait before i hooked the jumpers up to it when i would try to start it with the battery only it would not fire until the battery was just about drained then it seemed like it would almost start or at least try too so then that was when we hooked the jumpers up and it seemed like it wasn't getting any spark so my father got his spark tester which when we watched it seemed like it would get spark right as i turned the ignition and right when it would slow down so now i need to know what could cause this.

and by the way i know it was getting fuel because my dad was constantly spraying fuel and starting fluid into it every time we would try to start it.

Ok have you checked to see what voltage is at the possitive side and what voltage is at the neg side of the coil. All you need to do it take a digital multi meter and turn the key on engine off and read voltage at both poss and neg side of coil and let me know what that voltages are ok. Have you checked the fuel filter? Get back to me and we go to the next step. Thanks

I don't exactly understand how to do that obviously the battery has to be hooked up so the wires to the coil have to be hooked up so how do I hook up my voltage meter it has two wires and a digital reading so were do i put both them to check the negitve side of the coil and the positive side of the coil. and how do i do that with the coil connected i will give picture to explain.

Ok what you need to do is have every thing hooked up as you have already said, the batt and the coil. Then take you Volt Meter and put the possitive side of the volt meter to the wire and you can back probe it and then the neg to a good ground like the intake and take a reading with the key on engin off and do the same on the neg side of the coil and take a voltage reading there and let me know what you find.
