1997 Ford Aspire NO HEAT

Just replaced the blower, and now it is like the vents are blocked. There is hardly any air blowing out of the vents, and little if any heat. It blew out better before we replaced the motor. Had to hit it with hammer to start the old blower, but it blew harder. Still little if any heat came out. What is wrong with it? HELP!!!! I live in Minnesota and am freezing!

check to see if the motor is turning the proper direction,

I had this problem and the mechanice who installed this put the blower in backwards. Just fyi, check that first.
