1990 Ford Aerostar XL 3.0 Automatic
180,325 miles, previously wrecked
A few days ago it started sounding like a loose bolt, or something, was rattling around in the engine.
From under the van with engine running and ear close to the torque converter I could tell that it is in the converter.
I assume that it is a broken fin or bolt, or something, and that the longer it goes on, the more damage will be done.
Can I just remove and replace the converter by pulling out the transmission, or being front wheel drive, am I in for a nightmare???
If I swap converters from a pick-n-pull, what years and models will fit????
I can't afford to have it fixed, and must do it myself. Any help would be appreciated.
thank you
