Transmission problem
1995 Ford Aerostar 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 123K miles

Shift lever on column shifter is loose & sloppy when
shifting from Park to Drive & rest of detents. I have to jiggle shift lever in order to get park position & start vehicle.

A loose gear selector is most commonly caused by worn shifter bushings. These bushings are in the steering column and require that the column be removed from the vehicle.
