hello well some reason when i turn either way it makes a loud rubbing sound, sort of squeaking. The power steering fluid is full and it turns easily but it sounds horrible. The brakes just got done and they are fine so I know its not that. Also, it also has a loud humming sound while driving but its not squeaking, that's even when I'm going straight not just turning. I appreciate all your help cause this car is my only way to work to support my daughter. Thank you very much Amy

Hi there,

Check that the power steering belt is tight and in good condition.

I have seen the power steering pump go out and cause this noise even though it is working it will stop are seize up shortly. Here is how to change the pump out and guide to help as well.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/power-steering-problems

1. Drain fluid from pump reservoir, then disconnect pressure and return lines at pump.
2. If applicable, disconnect pressure switch electrical connector, then remove switch from line fitting.
3. Loosen drive belt adjusting bolt at idler pulley, then remove drive belt from pump pulley.
4. Remove oil dipstick tube, as required.
5. Remove power steering pump bracket support brace, if equipped.
6. Using steering pump pulley remover T69L-10300-B or equivalent, hold pump and rotate nut counterclockwise to remove pulley. Do not apply in and out pressure on pump shaft as internal thrust area damage may result.
7. Remove pump to support bracket retaining bolts, then the pump assembly.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Fill pump reservoir, start engine, then turn steering wheel lock-to-lock to remove air from system.

Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.
