why doesn't my heat work? replaced the thermostat,reconnected the hose from the blower.

Hi:
With the engine hot, running, and the heater on high, check to see if both heater core hoses are hot.

Let me know what you find.

both heatercore hoses are hot and heater core also. air blows over heatercore left to right but not comimng out hot. checked control arms, moves damper ( little door behind heatercore) but still no hot air reaching heater vents

Are you sure the blender door is working. THat is what determins if you get heat or cool air.

where is it located and what position should it be in

It should be located on the same housing that the heater core is in. Exact position, I can't say but it should open and close when you change from cold to hot.
