Flickering oil light when braking especially when in reverse

Hello,

My oil light flickers when I'm braking especially when I am in reverse. I've had the car to the shop and they can't figure it out.
The car is full of oil, all the pressures are good. No check engine light. The light does not stay on and when I remove my foot from the brake it goes out. The oil sending unit was also replaced and had no effect the light still intermittently flickers .

Good afternoon,

If you checked the oil pressure, what is the exact pressure? I need to see cold and hot pressures while idling and 1,200 RPM's.

It is possible that the sender is bad but it is possible that the oil pressure is low as well.

You need to do a manual test on the oil pressure to verify.

It was done in a shop. I don't have the numbers for you. Only happens when I'm braking and going slow.

Yes, it is very possible.

Can you call the shop and ask them what the actual pressure was? I need those numbers.

They felt it was an electrical issue in the dash and I need to go to a place that does speedometers and other things in the dash.

They didn't keep the numbers since they didn't charge me. I'm going to return the oil sending unit for a new one to be sure the new one isn't defective since it got worse with the new one.

Who is they that you are referring to?

You need to have the actual oil pressure tested.
