Correct. But this is a 2.3L correct? If it is then you have what is called a waste spark plug. I included a picture of both sides of the engine. You have a coil pack on both sides that has the same firing order of 1-3-4-2.

I have a 1986 Ford Ranger with a 2.3l. The block is a 1989 and the rest is a 1986. I got spark and gas. The timing is set to specks with cam and crank but it don't want to start. Could it be the computer or the cylinders.
Could the cylinders be reversed?

I have a small collection of Chiltons. I do not have one for your truck but Ford has this thing about being consistent. Do not quote me on these but I am confident this is correct. The Firing order is as follows: 1-4-2-5-3-6.
