Hello! I own a 1998 Fiat Marea. I took it into Kwikfit for a full service and MOT 10 days ago and they advised me to replace the brake pads, shoes and discs which I did and cost me £260.00 and passed the MOT. No other major repairs were required for my vehicle to pass and nothing else was mentioned on the paperwork as possibly needing replacing in the near future. Only 7 days after getting my car back, our brakes failed. I had it towed back to Kwikfit and they have advised me that the master cylinder needs replacing. Q1. Is this something that should have been picked up in the initial service or MOT Q2. Is it possible that something they have done whilst replacing the brakes has caused this or is it just purely bad luck that only a week later, the master cylinder has blown? Kwikfit are saying the latter and I'm not convinced.

I suspect it was just bad luck .. or they would have tried to charge you for a replacement in the first repair .. if there was a fault it would not have passed the MOT
