fault code P0560 system voltage malfunction

vauxhall corsa C 2001 fault code P0560 (system voltage malfunction) couple of months ago my battery kept going flat and every time i would charge my battery it would drain after a night, decided to get a new battery and then same thing kept happening and started getting this fault code P0560 system voltage malfunction, so i checked the voltage across the battery and it was high and around 17-19V changed my alternator and auxiliary belt and everything was fine for about a month until i was driving, all the electronics in the car went off including head unit, electronic power steering, speed and rev dials and this happens every time i get to about 3rd gear around 20-30mph

Wow! 17 to 19 volts!!! I'm surprised there wasn't a fire or other damage done to the vehicle. As far as now, is the battery going dead again overnight?

after changing the alternator the battery doesn't die anymore, i recently haven't turned my car on for the past 2/3 weeks whilst looking for a solution and a few days ago was the first time since then and it started up fine with no problem. and checked the link you sent and everything in relation is fine. could it possibly be a bad earth/grounding point?

Yes it could be. Can you tell me if the voltage regulator is part of the alt on this vehicle or separate?

Most of the time, the regulator is a small electrical box on the rear of the alternator. I wish I could provide more info, but in N. America, we don't have these vehicles or info on them. I am trying to get you through it based on general knowledge.

Oh I checked my old alternator and other forums and apparently it's apart of the alternator itself

i checked the voltage again and it was 17 but currently cannot check the amp as my mulitmeter doesn't allow me to, but when i put the fan/AC on max the voltage drops back down to around 13.5 but when i starting driving it works fine but the head unit just cuts out again?

It should never produce 17v of power. That is too high. There has to be a problem with the regulator. The 13.5v with the AC on and the engine running sounds normal.
