Hi,

Does the vehicle have an anti theft system? If so, is it a factory installed one or aftermarket? Since the lights are flashing, it sounds like it is the result of a security system issue. When they are flashing, take your key and lock and unlock the driver's door to see if that stops them. Use the key and not the fob to do this.

Let me know.

You indicated that both exterior lights were flashing. Which two? Is it all of them on the outside?

Okay. If they are flashing, it has to be going through a relay. Did the vehicle sit for any length of time? Did the old battery just get weak?

I'm sorry to keep asking questions, but this is a first. Especially since it is just the front lights. Also, let me know if it is the headlamps or the marker lights. I will have to study the wiring schematics to try and figure out what could cause this.

If there is anything you can think of that can help me diagnose the issue, please let me know. Also, I really need to know if there was anything happening prior to the new battery.

That's perfect. Inside the fuse box, there are relays. They are the black boxes about 1" square. Place your finger on them one at a time until you feel the clicking. Let me know which relay it is.

Were you able to locate anything in that box that was making the noise?

If I can jump in here it sounds like the BCM or combination flasher has gone out due to a voltage surge when the battery was replaced. I would do a CAN scan to confirm the issue. To be sure lets do a CAN scan which is the future of automotive repair you can get a CAN scanner from Amazon for about $50.00. here is a video to show you how:

https://youtu.be/InIlnsjOVFA

Here is the flasher and BCM location and the blinker wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works so you can check it out.

REMOVAL
The flasher is mounted to the back side of the multi-function switch. To gain access, the upper steering column cover must be removed. The flasher can be removed by pulling it forward. The flasher is serviced separately from the multi-function switch. The flasher is black in color for ease of identification.

INSTALLATION
The flasher is mounted to the back side of the multi-function switch. To gain access, the upper steering column cover must be removed. Push the flasher toward the rear of the vehicle. The flasher is black in color for ease of identification.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
