I went to a mechanic a month before for regular oil change up. what he did was shocking for me he said my catalytic converter is chocked he poured some acid in without disassembling catalytic converter and then rev car up to throw acid out of exhaust. as a result car feels heavy to me. then i went to another mechanic he then cleaned it by removing catalytic converter and then again putting it, but i felt no change. i finally decided to do a compression test (dry one) and it was normal. Car is not is same in power this is what i feel: feels something is wrong but compression test is fine. Please suggest something.

Good morning,

Why did the first guy do that to the catalytic converter? Did you have any issues?

The next step is to have a back pressure test done to see if the cat melted internally from that stuff.

Good morning to you as well.

The first guy said to me it is chocked, i should clean out it soon but then he said he knows a trick and then he did that which i wrote above. I am from Pakistan and mechanics here don't know much about cars.

I am afraid he has damaged the converter and melted some of the core from the acid.

Nothing you can do but replace it.
