I recently installed an exhaust manifold to the engine in my truck. It seems not to line up flush with the three studs on the exhaust flange , there appears to be a slight slant; I am not sure if I have the right exhaust manifold for the truck, is there any difference in exhaust manifolds for this series trucks? 1987 B2000 or B2200? Could it be sagging down ? Should I try jacking it up a little underneath the truck??

Hi,

The engine size is different, but they use the same exhaust manifold. How far off is it from alignment?

If it isn't far, you need to readjust the exhaust under the truck. Loosen any mounts that are restricting the downpipe from the manifold. Then, you should be able to attach it and tighten the downpipe.

Let me know if that helps. Also, if possible, upload a couple of pictures for me to see. Hopefully, it will help me.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you very much for the advice. I had an ideal this might be the problem. your answer of the exhaust being the same rules that out. I am going to give it the try you stated, I might respond back with acknowledgement of it working. again thank you for assistance.
