Would a muffler off of a Dodge truck be compatible with my GMC v6?

Hi James,
That is a bit of a loaded question. The muffler will "fit" if it has the same diameter inlets and outlets and if the length works. For example if you have a 3" exhaust pipe and the muffler is 2-1/2", it will not work. Or if the muffler is too long, or too short. Of course you could modify the exhaust system to accept any muffler you want but it is a lot of unnecessary work and the exhaust may not perform well. Meaning too much noise or poor performance.
I would recommend finding the correct one that is made for your vehicle. That way you are guaranteed that not only will it fit, it will perform correctly. A lot of mufflers these days have hangars built-in to them so it is easy to replace them with original mufflers.
