What is it that when you start your car and it is filled with white smoke, but as you start the smoke goes away? it is driving normal. it is not overheating, but the check engine light is on.

then you have a misfire your cheapest option is to go to a professional so he/she can freeze frame it as it may be a sensor that is messing up or causing the problem. you can check fuel pressure with a gauge as well auto parts rent it. if it is low that may do it as well.

Hi Fredrick,

Here is a link to an article from this site that features written instructions and pictures showing and explaining the process of checking the fuel pressure yourself. If you decide you would like do this yourself you can purchase a fuel pressure gauge online from sites like Amazon.com.
