white smoke, no overheating or coolant loss and gas mileage is bad. transmission slips at times taking off like a chugged.

have coolant system pressure checked. this motor was famous for head gasket problems. check transmission fluid, if dark brown or black maybe needs a transmission overhaul. finally scan for codes.

Hey Don,

Can you remove the radiator cap to see if there is pink goo inside? This will mean you have a radiator cooler that is blown. Also, can you pull the transmission dipstick to check the transmission fluid level please?

Please let me know what you find.

Best, Ken

your fuel pressure should be 45-50 psi. so it is quite low but with the blow by do a compression test and if possible a cylinder leak down test.

if you unhooked canister then the purge valve is shot and you have a vacuum leak if you didn' plug the line. I think your problems are deeper however.
