I am getting a check engine light on I checked it with an OBD device and it said I have a large leak in the line. do I have to replace the entire unit or is it possibly a leak in the plastic lines?

Hi,

If it is a large leak, it should be somewhat easy to find. Make sure the fuel cap is good and tight, make sure none of the hoses have come off the EVAP system under the hood and at the EVAP canister near the fuel tank. Also, make sure there are no leaks between the filler tube and fuel tank.

I attached pics to help you identify what I am referring to. Check these things out and let me know if you find a problem. Also, please provide the code you retrieved. It may help me pinpoint the issue.

Let me know.

Hi,

That sounds like a plan. The code will be a letter (P) and 4 digits. For example, P0301.

Okay, I wasn't able to go to AutoZone for the scanner but I did end up going to the junkyard and got a new oil pan because the one I have right now is cracked but upon further inspection I noticed that.

The factory bolts have a pointed tip on them and the new bolts that I purchase online are flat-headed. I was just wondering is that going to cause a difference in the performance or am I going to need to use Loctite or something like that if I use the new bolts?

Well, apparently I ordered the wrong bolts. will the old bolts still work if I'm doing an oil pan change?

Hi,

Yes, you can reuse the old ones. I attached the torque specs in case you need them.

Let me know if I can help.

Hey, I've not been on for a while but I have a new problem now. I went to turn on my truck after already having it started and it won't crank over it doesn't even sound like the starter is engaging but all of the fuses in the box underneath the hood are clicking like they're supposed to. all the lights come on everything sounds normal except for the fact that when I turn the key nothing happens and for some odd reason the stability control it's saying that it's off or disabled.
