I hit a pothole and lost power when I pressed on the gas it would barely move and started running rough. The dash started flashing service ESC and service traction control in my traction control light came on. I limped it back home and on the way, I stopped and got a code reading at AutoZone and it's saying my crankshaft positioning sensor Bank One sensor a is faulty with a crankshaft positioning sensor caused those problems and caused it to flash ESC service and traction control service?

Hi,

There is only one crankshaft position sensor on the vehicle. So, I'm not sure why they said bank 1 other than if they meant a camshaft position sensor. Did they provide the codes for you that they found?

Now, the idea that the stability control is being affected likely has nothing to do with either of the aforementioned sensors. My first suspect is a wheel speed sensor. If a wheel speed sensor was damaged it will set the ABS, stability control, and traction control indicators. By chance, is the ABS light on as well?

Please understand that in most cases, the parts stores won't have a scan tool that can read codes related to the wheel speed sensors. You need a scan tool that can read ABS codes or the entire can-bus.

Here is a link that explains how the can-bus is scanned. I'm adding it so you see the difference.

Let me know.

Take care,

No the ABS light didn't come on but I started swapping relays and found 2 fuses blown and that fixed everything, it was a faulty relay and the fuses that caused all my problems.
