Error codes P0123, P1698, P1492, and P0357, transmission shifting rough?

My car is shifting really rough after sitting in the cold for a couple of months and I checked the codes using the key and this is what came up, but I don't know what they mean.
P 0123
P 1698
P 1492
P 0357

The definitions for the codes are below:

P0123: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit High Input
P1698: No code description - NO BUS between TCM and ECM
P1492: Ambient Battery Temperature Sensor Voltage High Input
P0357: Ignition Coil G Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction

Sounds like you have some electrical gremlins! I have a couple of questions for you. Does the vehicle start right away or does it struggle to start? Does the shift indicator still work (though may be cable operated), so that you can see what gear you are in? Otherwise, can you check that the reverse lights operate? Do you have access to a scan tool to do a complete scan of the CAN system?

I actually figured out the hard shifting issue and changed the throttle position sensor myself at Oreilleys for like 40 bucks and it fixed it. That's the one I was really worried about. My boyfriend thought it was my transmission going out or that it might be the torque converter, but it was just that one sensor. The other codes came on before I replaced the battery. I had it cleared last night but I'm going to drive it for a while and see if it throws those same codes and go from there.

It sounds like you may have fixed it, good job though the P1698: No code description - NO BUS between TCM and ECM is concerning. Clear the codes and see if they come back and please let us know.

Thanks! So, I thought everything was fine but then I drove out of town last weekend on Sunday about 60 miles to a function and when my car would get up around 50-55mph it would shake pretty badly, and the check engine light would blink. All of the gauges were fine and if I stepped on the gas and went above that, the shaking would stop. I know that probably wasn't good for the car, but I had to get it home and I was on the highway. I feel like that gets worse in 4wd. Also, sharp turning feels clunky or like something isn't right or is going to break or is already broken. I've had the tires rotated and balanced because I was told by a mechanic that would fix that, but it doesn't seem to be helping.

Hello,

Considering you had the above code P0357 (Ignition Coil G Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction), I would say that is what you are feeling. However, a flashing check engine light would mean at least 2 of the cylinders have a misfire. Let's scan the CAN system again and read those codes and go from there.

About the clunking, a rotate/balance will not fix this, as this is a steering/suspension issue. Balancing a tire will affect ride quality and vibration, as well as rotating the tires if say the front tires are worn considerably. We can tackle the suspension issue as well, but first we need to get the car running well again.
