I have the car listed above with the 2.4 dohc. When it was parked it was running and driving. It had a slight oil leak and had a slight tap. I changed the valve cover gasket and put motor back together cranked it for a few seconds to make sure it was going to crank back it did. I then changed the oil and oil filter and she would not crank back. She tries to but she doesn’t. Also changed the low oil pressure sensor. Car was fine until then. What do I need to check?

Hi,

First, if it is possible for you to record it cranking and upload it for me to hear, that would likely be helpful.

To get you started, here are a couple of links that explain what to look for with a crank no start condition, how to check for ignition spark, and how to check fuel pressure.

The easiest thing to do is to see if it starts for a couple of seconds using starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we know it's a fuel-related issue. If it doesn't, then it is likely ignition. I'm basing this on it cranks over (starter engages) but doesn't try to start.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
