Engine will not crank

Hi,

If you have power at 116 and not 20, there is an open between the two. When you replaced the switch, did you confirm power to it? Take a look at the picture below.

Note that fuse 116 sends power to fuse 20. So what needs done is we need to determine where the open is located most likely in the wire. I would start at the switch. Check to see if the light green / violet wires have power. If they do, see if power is sent to the red/light blue wire when the key is in the start position.

Let me know what you find.

Hello, thanks for responding to my plea for help. I have checked the switch and found power at all 4 of the wires that are to supply power and the red/light blue wire does get power sent to it when you attempt to start. The starter still does not crank so based on your earlier message I take it there is a short in the red/light blue wire going to fuse 20.
There isn't much room under the dash so before I attempt to find the short am I on the right path? Any suggestions? Will the same red/light blue wire be sent all the way to fuse 20 in the fuse block?

Yes, the wire will go to that fuse box. I assume there is no power on fuse 20. I suspect either there is a bad connection or the wire is broken.
