Engine vibration

Hi,
I have the car listed above it is a 113 CDI Taxi. When i put it into reverse or drive i get a big vibration and shaking for a couple of seconds and then it drives fine. This happens almost every time I put it into gear and has also cut out a few times. My garage have put the diagnostic machine to test this but no faults are showing.

If there are no misfire codes, I question if the torque converter clutch is going bad. When it happens, take notice if the rpm's drop and in a safe place, place it in gear and see if it wants to move. I would also make sure the transmission fluid is clean and full.

Hi,
There is not really a drop in rpm's. It does want to move when in gear but not too fast. Should I try a gearbox service as I think I am overdue? If it is still doing this after the service can I assume it is the torque converter?

I never like to assume. If the vehicle is due for a service, it will not hurt to try.
