I have replaced the rockers and the entire upper on this engine.I was told to replace the oil pump as this might not be getting enough oil for lube purposes? Its ok when I first start it and runs very strong. What is making this noise and where do I look to repair?

You will ave to check oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, post the hot idle readings and hot @1500rpm for evaluation.

"The engine runs great but not at low idle when hot? The oil pressure was checked with a gauge and hot. Plenty of pressure there. new pump was secured."

Did you replace the lifters? A bad lifter could be noisy at idle and stick . Using the wrong weight oil could also cause that problem.

This is sounding like a faulty hydraulic lifter, they will tick if they become problematic, this will be a rhythmical tick which will increase with engine speed, basically it is excessive valve clearance and the noise is the rocker slapping against the valve stem, you may just have some carbon deposits gumming up one or more lifter, best thing to do first is to do an engine oil and filter change with a quality flushing agent, otherwise you will have to replace the lifters, they should be replaced as a set.

Since you replaced the entire top end, it may be a bad wrist pin or bearing in one of the rods. Another thing to check is your drive belt pulleys, remove the drive belt and spin all of them to make sure they are free wheeling.
