Intermittent engine surge when car is stopped

Every now and then the engine will do a power surge. It happens mainly when i am at a stop light and car has warmed up. Would this be a fuel pump related problem or something with the air control?

If the idle is erratic, I have a couple ideas but my first suspect is an engine vacuum leak. Try this test first and let me know the results.
