engine replacement

I have an 1988 Dodge Lancer with a bad 2.5l engine. What I need to know is if a short block from a 1994 Dodge Dakota will fit my 1988 Lancer?

The Dakota is rear wheel drive and yours is a front wheel drive, it won't work it's a different block.
