Engine replacement 2014 kia sorento 2.4L

Did not check oil and locked up engine. In looking for a replacement found my engine vin 6 (8th digit) is priced higher than previous years and also later years (17,18). Can I replace it with one of those years or tell me why I can't please.

Alex, thank you for posting this! My engine had been burning oil at a really high rate, I needed 4-5 quarts of oil every 2 weeks or sooner, the engine eventually locked up on me. Like the post above, they said the engines for this year were higher than the others. I called KIA after getting quotes for used engines with 30-day warranties for $3,500.00 to $4,800.00 and they are replacing my engine for free!
