I was wondering if I could replace my 2012 Kia Optima 2.4L GDI motor with a 2012 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L gdi motor.

Yes, they are interchangeable. The external components are slightly different. It would be good to strip down the donor motor and change all the externals from your motor to the donor motor.
