Engine rattling and Service engine now light

If the oil light was going to 0, there doesn't have to be a leak. Did the shop try checking the oil pressure switch? Also, if the check engine light was flashing, that indicated a misfire.

Is it possible for you to upload an audio recording of what you are hearing? I'm not sure I understand the idea of it rattling. If I could hear it, it may help. Also, let me know if anything other was noticed such as smoke from the exhaust, steam from under the hood. And one last question. When the oil gauge indicated 0 psi at an idle, was there any ticking or knocking from the engine?

yes I will upload tomorrow! but I'm not sure! he checked inside the hood and under the car & advised me that it could possibly be the dashboard itself! obviously it was more than that because now I'm having this problem! When the service engine light came on and the engine begin to shake, there was no smoke from exhaust, no steam under the hood but I did notice a gas like smell. also when the engine started rattling it felt like it was only coming from the passenger side under the hood.

Okay, then it was a misfire. Have you scanned the computer?

That is what I recommend doing. Scan the computer to identify which cylinder was causing the misfire so we can focus on that specific one.

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but often times a parts store will lend or rent one to you. Do that and let me know what codes are found.
