Replaced thermostat, and valve cover gasket and plugs. And oil change. Car overheated after thermostat replacement, which it was doing before replacement. I had a scan done before the thermostat replacement I got a 217 reading (hot engine) and a P300 (random cylinder misfire)which was done on 12-30-17. The first scan gave a P301 (cylinder one misfire), a few weeks ago, now it's random. The coolant reservoir was at max line before driving and when stopped after about six to eight miles it was at minimum. At a loss of the issue, have not done a pressure test on the radiator. Hopefully someone who is near me has one to use, so any advice will help. Thanks!

You do need to get the pressure test done and also a head check. this is a simple and quick chemical test for exhaust gasses in the cooling system. If this is positive you will have a head problem to rectify.

Thanks, I am having it taken to my mechanic to check out. It did not take long to overheat yesterday around ten to fifteen minutes. So I will mention the pressure test for gasses, and hopefully it is not a serious head problem as in a cracked head/block. Thanks again for your help.
