Engine overheating

I replaced the radiator and thermostat. When I drive for a few miles the engine says it is overheating. the upper radiator hose is hot but the lower is cold. that's why I replaced the thermostat. I do not see any leaks. I thought maybe an air bubble somewhere, but I am stumped.

Hey there. Sorry you are having a bad time with your car over heating. Usually when your top hose is hot and the lower is cold, it is due to some sort of blockage, like the thermostat being stuck closed. However, since it is unlikely, but possible that you have a bad thermostat out of the box, you should check the hoses going in and out of your heater core.

Heater cores are almost always being the glove box but there are two hoses you can check attached to your firewall, inside the engine compartment.

If one hose is hot and the other cold, your obstruction may lie inside your heater core. Please let me know what find.
