This has happened twice before in a 13-month period and last night it happened again. Driving down the road, no problem and then the oil pressure warning comes on and the gauge is headed to zero. I pulled over and shut the engine off. Checked the oil level it was fine, started the engine back up and everything ran smoothly, and the gauge went back to normal. I am suspecting it is the sensor once again. I checked the oil again this morning and it was still fine and started the engine still good. My problem is I don’t get paid for two more days and I have to work the next two days. Will it hurt to drive the truck as long as everything is still fine until I can get paid and fix it?

Hi,

The one thing to pay attention to is if there is noise from the engine when it drops. If the pressure is 0 PSI, you will hear ticking and knocking from the engine. Do not drive it if you hear anything. If there is no noise, chances are it is the sensor or other electrical glitch.

Let me know.
