Engine has a ticking or tapping sound - timing chain replacement?

Used a stethoscope seems to be under the timing chain cover area. It is constant and when you rev up the engine tapping sound gets faster. No change even when the engine is warmed up.

It sounds like you have a timing chain guide that has broken or is worn. to be sure we will need to remove the timing chain cover. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can hear the noise? that would be great. You can upload it here with your response. I have included the cover and the timing chain replacement instructions in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (below). Thanks for the video. This is not a timing chain issue. Something has come apart in the engine it sounds like a broken piston or a rod bearing is gone. You might want to try to disconnect each ignition coil one at a time to isolate the cylinder but for sure the engine needs to come apart. Please let us know what happens.
