My engine is louder than usual at higher speeds. It sounds like the engine is revving and not changing gears, but it is. The rpm gauge shows gears changing and at high speed it stays around 2000 rpm. Could it be an exhaust leak from engine area?

Exhaust leak or intake air ducting is loose and you are hearing the air entering the engine. Not hard to check, open the hood and listen. To narrow down the location take a short piece of hose, hold it tight to your ear and move the other end around the engine compartment. WATCH OUT FOR MOVING PARTS. The hose will work to narrow the area you can hear to a small spot and let you determine where the noise is coming from. Exhaust leaks will be easy to hear even at idle.
