Engine light on and truck is shaking

Hi,

If the check engine light was flashing, that normally indicates a misfire. By any chance, do you know the codes that AutoZone found?

As far as fuel pressure, if it is too high or too low, it can cause a misfire, but I don't believe there is a code just for the fuel pump. Usually, you will find a lean or rich fuel mixture code.

The code found reads P0300. Only other thing I noticed is the engine temperature gauge remains down on the C for quite some time. I’m not sure if that’s normal or not.

Okay, the P0300 indicates a random cylinder misfire. As far as the temperature gauge, that could be part of the issue. If the ECT (eng coolant temperature sensor) is faulty, it could be causing an issue with the air/fuel mixture sent to the engine.

If your scan tool can provide live data, see what the ECT indicates. If the engine is cold, the temperature should be close to the outside ambient temperature.

Do that and let me know what it says.
