I haven't taken it to AutoZone to be tested to see if they can give me any codes or pin point the problem. someone said maybe one of the sensor may have gotten water in it and caused the problem. I just replaced it with a new transmission and did brakes and oil change. don't know what it could be but some water got into some part of the bottom of the car and a sensor is damage.

Hi,

In this case, you need to take it to have the computer scanned as you mentioned. Anything related to the ignition system that gets wet can cause issues.

Was the check engine light flashing when it came on?

Let me know. Here is a link that explains the most common causes a check engine light to turn on:

Take care and let me know the codes you get.

Joe

So we took it to AutoZone and they put it in the machine and the code was bank1 he said we have 4 sensors so he changed the one on the right side and cleared the screen the engine light went off. now today it came back on. so I'm really not understand did he change the right one.

Okay, I asked you a few questions before. So I went to AutoZone and had a test did on the car and the code came back as bank1. so I purchased the part and had it replaced, but on the paper it was a left and a right then light went off. then today the check engine light came back on again, so I took it back to do a second check and came back with the same code. so now I'm wondering did he replaced the wrong side?

Hi,

Do you have the code that is now showing? I can check to see which sensor is involved to help you determine if the correct sensor was replaced.

Let me know.

This is what the code Bank1 and put in the computer and printed out these sensor we already changed one side the mechanic told us to purchase the right side. but standing in front of the car he replaced the one on the passenger side that would be the left side, but from behind the wheel if you where driving would be the right side. I'm really confused.

Hi,

I don't mean to confuse you. The pics you attached are for the variable valve timing sensors. There are four on this car. For me to know which one was turning on the light, I need the diagnostic trouble code. It will be a number like P0011 or P0014.

The idea is this. If I know the code, I can tell if the correct sensor was replaced. If it was, then we have to check other things. One of the things that can set these codes is when the timing chain stretches. With the number of miles on the vehicle, that is possible. There are other things as well that can cause them.

Is there anything that they gave you that indicates the code that was found?

Let me know. Please let me know if you have questions. Honestly, I want to help not confuse you.

Take care,
Joe
