Engine front oil seal replacement

Bill, do you know exactly which seal is leaking? Also, as far as I'm aware, there are no front seals that require a bearing replacement, so that's what has me a bit confused.

Welcome to 2CarPros. Replacement of the front seal depends on which engine you have and where the seal is located as well as what caused it to fail. I believe your car has the Toyota 3GR-FE engine a 3.0 V6. The seal itself is not even close to $300.00, I found it online for about $30.00 and it shows a time to change it of under one hour, however I suspect that there are other parts that should be changed as well, for instance if the seal has worn a groove in the crank pulley or that it is leaking at the timing cover itself (which is common) and those would add to the cost and time. Also that time number is if everything comes apart easily and they don't count some of the steps in it, That is how the book times can make it interesting. For instance it may say 1 hour to replace X but not say that you need to spend 2 hours removing A,B and Z to get to part X !
As for any bearings, that would depend on if the bearings are the cause of the seal leak, which isn't a likely thing, but it could, again it would need to be inspected with the crank pulley out.

All of that said, it looks like just the front seal could be replaced if the other parts are not worn.
