I have an RV on a 1984 g30 chassis.

It will run perfectly normal until the engine heats up, then it will stall and shut off. I have to wait for it to cool down before I can start it again, this was minor 700 miles ago, it has since gotten to the point where I can only go 10 miles down the road. I’ve replaced the power steering pump, alternator, rebuilt the carburetor, bypassed the mechanical pump with an electric (I put the plate in and took the pump off), I’ve heat shielded the fuel lines because I guessed vapor-lock.

The only thing that is making me uneasy is that when I start up and it does the stalling thing, there’s a growl that (to me) sounds like something slowing the engine down, it’ll putter then shut off.

I’m 500 miles from home and I don’t know what to do at this point.

The video is the growl.

Thanks for the video. I would remove the drive belts and start it to see if the noise is still there. If so I would then loosen the head pipes because it sounds like the exhaust is plugged. Try both of these and get back to me, we are interested to see what it is.

The previous owner said the exhaust blew up when he was driving down the highway, then she pushed it back together and pipe clamped it shut.

lol, that's a good one.I would replace the muffler or at least loosen the exhaust at the head pipe to see if performance improves.
