Engine coolant over temperature - Engine overheating

It sounds like you have a coolant leak which will cause both issues here is a guide to help you see how to find the leak.

My Fusion was doing the same temp Gage was fine and a second later went into overheat, Mine did this 4 times in 3 days. It's at the dealership now to be repaired. They said there was a recall on the engine cooling fans and fuses. My fusion only had 12,322 miles on it.

My fusion first overheated from low amounts of coolant after it was drained from the radiator so I had added more coolant and bleed the system still overheated after that and got a P1285 code for cylinder head over temperature sensed and so the thermostat, radiator, water pump, and coolant temperature sensor have been replaced... Car does not overheat when idling only when driven and when driven it moves from normal temperature and takes a straight shot to H.. The gauge does the start to overheat slowly it is a straight shot to H

have the coolant system pressure checked for an internal leak like ahead or intake gasket.

The system has been pressure check for leaks and nothing

then have it checked to see that it is actually overheating by putting a temp guage on the return hose as it may be an electrical problem with a sender or gauge. it may not be doing what iti says.

Ford fusion sel v6 started making a rattling noise while accelerating so pulled over and shut off the car then restarted and noticed the temp gauge went all the way up when it wasn't before I'm thinking water pump but not sure.

If the car was overheating, could be low on oil or coolant. If it was the water pump, typically you will be able to see a constant drip or stream of water coming from the front of the engine. You will need to check the coolant level after it is cooled off to make sure it is full. Also check your oil level. I would not try to drive the car until you at least do these two things or you could risk ruining your engine and have to replace it. When the car is overheating do not drive it! Let me know what you find out.

Ok I found out that my water pump seized up and the belt broke off since its ran off a separate belt than my serpentine belt is it hard to replace and is there any issues that could have cause when it seized up

Yes there could be internal engine issues. Did the engine quit running by itself or did you turn it off?

Engine light comes on and sensor says engine coolant over temperature. The sensor was changed thinking that it was a defect but that wasn't it. There's no signs of car running hot the temperature gauge needle stays in the middle and doesn't move towards hot. So what is it cause mechanics been trying to figure out for over a week now

It sounds like it could be a blown head gasket causing the engine to run hot. Here is a guide that will help you confirm the problem

Okay, I did the test and the head gasket is blown, I will have it repaired becasue I don't want to do the job myself. Great work you guys do here on this site. I love it :)

I'm getting it too. The codes are P0301, P0303, and P0304. The computer said to change the EVAP control valve. I did. Still getting the same warnings.
