Engine bogs and shuts off sometimes?

Engine idles fine, but when you give it gas it bogs down and shuts off sometimes. Ran it a few minutes the exhaust manifold got cherry red. Any suggestions?

Sounds lean. Try adding extra fuel. Or checking for vacuum leaks around intake with it running. Revs up with brake clean you found a leak. If no vac leaks I would check fuel supply.

Does this car have a catalytic converter? it might be clogged or the engine is running rich, can you please remove the spark plugs and upload an image here so I can see? In the meantime please go over this guide:
