i am rebuilding my Toyota engine from years ago and i do not know what is missing or what goes where.

With what you said, it is probably going be a real challenge to rebuild it.
Maybe you need to find a local mechanic to, at minimum, look at the situation.
Sometimes you can talk one into stopping by after work.
