My engine and TCS lights both came on at basically the same time. I had a lot of trouble scanning with just "error" coming up. Eventually I scanned it and the code P0571 came up. My car will not engage/disengage my TC or cruise control. Are these issues all related? No issues prior.

Hello, I am Danny.

Yes, they are related. Code P0571 is Brake Switch 'A' Cruise control relies on information from the brake circuit to shut it off when braking so, It is all in the same circuits. I have attached a picture showing you the circuit diagram. I have also attached a link showing you how test and a few things/symptoms to look for. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

I just bought a 2014 200 LX with 100k miles. We were excited to have an upgrade from what we had. I was driving it yesterday and got the exact scenario described above. I used my OBDII scanner and cleared the check engine light. Today, TCS came on as I was pulling into a parking lot. Shut car off, turned it back on, TCS light didn't come back on. I drove it 20 more miles to home and TCS (nor check engine light) came on. Clearly it is an intermittent condition. I'm planning on driving it from Indiana to Virginia in two days - day after Christmas.
I am not sure if this situation is critical, or if I should jump in and go anyway? I do intend on taking it to a dealer and let them look at it, but an intermittent issue is very hard to troubleshoot. Any feedback is appreciated in advance and Merry Christmas ya'll.

I had the exact issue indicated above. I replaced the brake light switch and that resolved my problem.
